This… was a night for the ages. The three original blue men, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton returned one last time in “blue” to celebrate the final performance of Larry Heinemann, Chapman stick player for Blue Man Group since its infancy 33 years ago. Tonight, Larry took one final stage bow and rocked us into bliss. The energy was palpable, everyone had “the feeling.”

The fans, the VIP’s, the atmosphere. Simply electric. We literally have no words. The pictures will speak for themselves. To the founders, additional cast, band, stage crew and FOH, a huge round of applause for a job well done tonight.

The Astor may be ending after 33 years, so let’s celebrate its long and lively run that entertained millions. I’m trying not to see the sorrow of Astor’s closing, but the beauty of possibility and new adventures await for the role of the “Blue Man.” Think of the show as the “gestalt: “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” It’s not venues themselves that embody the life force of the blue man, it’s the collective together working in unison that defines the trajectory and the future of the show. The same can be said about our fan base, it’s just one of us, it’s “all of us.”
