Joe’s Story

So Why Blue Man Fans?

Joseph has been a part of the Blue Man Group community going back to the early 2000’s. Through years of medical trauma, Joseph has found solace and comfort in this theatrical troupe of “blue men.” In a recent interview with New York City’s “The Gothamist,” Joseph said, “Blue Man Group was the catalyst for me to look beyond the boundaries of my own suffering,” said Burke, who was born with hemophilia and contracted HIV through contaminated blood at age 2. “The show became a form of escapism, to the point where I could be that inner child for those two hours every time I saw a show.

Why Blue Man Fans?

To allow new and seasoned fans to find their community among those band of creatives who love and enjoy the show collectively.

Our Mission

To preserve and perpetuate the integrity of the character, the show, the ideologies of the co-founders (Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton) and provide insightful content and fan gatherings that solidify the oneness and unity of the show itself.

How Has Blue Man Group Impacted Our Lives?

It’s hard to pinpoint just one way Blue Man Group has changed my life, but I will say the support system I have amassed over 21 years of fandom is extremely life altering. I treasure all of the friendships I have made though the years and my life is enriched greatly by it!

Seeing the show in 2004. 11yrs old, the music, the musicianship between the band and blue men. I knew that’s what I wanted to do when I got older. Never happened. But I’m still grateful for the places and people I met who have helped me along the way.

If I had a nickel for every time someone called me up about some gosh-darn fan meet, I’d be able to pay off my tricycle. I mean, it’s a good time and all, don’t get me wrong, but sheesh, every single year! I have to save to get my banjo repaired and get back out on the road.

Floppy

Blue Man Group helped me heal after receiving some shocking medical news in 1999. Seeing the character on stage living in the moment without a care in the world has taught me that even though I’m different from others, being alive and living in the moment is a beautiful thing.

I stand here all day, and there’s gum under my right arm. Is it getting hot in here? Of all places to put me, in the middle of a scorching hot desert. Yet… I stand… Every once in a while, I catch the aroma of pistachio gelato… Yet… I stand.

Blue Man Group came into my life as I was living on a couch right after losing my mother to Cancer. It showed me joy can still exist, even in the darkness.
